Are you ever at a gig listening to the support act and sort of wishing they’d just finish their set so the actual concert could begin? That is precisely the opposite of what I was thinking when Ryan Keen was playing at the Jamie Lawson show I went to a few weeks ago. In fact, I kind of wanted him to go on for at least 5 more hours.
Not only was his voice possibly one of the best I’ve ever heard, but his songs had something so special and magical about them that I sort of wanted to listen to them for the rest of my life. (That’s not even an hyperbole.)
His genre can probably be described as acoustic or singer/ songwriter, so if you like artists like Ed Sheeran, Saint Raymond, James Bay or Ron Pope, you will probably enjoy his music just as much as I do. His debut album is called “Room For Light” and I highly recommend getting it since I’ve already listened to it a ridiculous amount of times and still can’t get enough of it.
If you wanna check out Ryan’s music, I’d suggest listening to “Old Scars” first because I feel like it represents his style very well, has the most amazing lyrics and will most certainly make you want to listen to it over and over again.
Let me know what you think and feel free to rec me some more music in the comments below! 🙂
